Land grabs threaten to destroy the fading dynasty
Chronology
When the huge Lawson cattle station has no heir, rival factions across Australia see a chance to take control. The series was filmed in the Northern Territory and South Australia in places so remote that they are barely inhabited, let alone shown on screen.
This show is filled with amazing talent and the backdrop is beautiful
Locations include the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kakadu National Park, with special permission from the traditional owners, and Tipperary Station, a real-life working cattle station so large it has its own airport and school. The plot is believable and easy to follow, but the characters are hard to like.
It was so hard to root for anyone
It wasn’t until episode 5 that any of them showed any signs of redemption. The whole premise of the show is one tragedy after another.
Episode 5 brings some kind of reunion and then bam
more tragedy. There are only 6 episodes and maybe episode 6 is what holds it all together, but honestly, I was so deeply depressed after the first 5 episodes that I couldn’t take it anymore.
It was not enjoyable to watch at all for me
There is such a lack of balance between hope and despair. I only stayed this far because I am a huge fan of some of the actors and actresses.
