Chronology

After a humiliating experience at an elite school, half-siblings Caroline and Lucien decide to maintain their power and fame by seducing the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. The direct-to-video sequel Cruel Name 2 (2000), which replaced Sarah Michelle Gellar as Kathryn Merteuil, was originally a scripted television series before being made into a feature film. Gellar later reprised her role as Kathryn in the 2016 NBC pilot Cruel Intentions (2016), which was not ordered to series.

It follows The Cruel Name (1999). Who starred in this series? Lucien looks like a 12-year-old doll found at a flea market.

He’s simply unbearable

There’s no way any 20-year-old would find him attractive or irresistible. The girl playing the Vice President’s daughter is not very convincing. Terrible acting.

Terrible casting choice

Terrible script. I think they shouldn’t have called it “Cruel Intentions” or used the names of characters from the movie. Maybe then it would appeal to a younger audience and not be compared to the movie.

None of these actresses are as good as Sarah Michelle Geller, Ryan Phillipe, Reese Witherspoon, or Selma Blair
