For someone who didn’t really know the story, the details of what happened really interested me
Chronology
During the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, an American sports broadcasting group was involved in covering the hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. All the performances are believable, the comedy is in the right places, and the pace and timing don’t make you watch the exit before the credits roll.
They did a solid job without cutting corners
Some may find the lack of change of scenery tiresome, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel that the control room is your world, and they felt the same way they did on this eventful day.
Making you think without preaching
They touched the political and emotional elements well. Mixing footage from the actual event, including broadcast footage, definitely puts you more into the experience.
While it’s not a movie I’m going to watch over and over again, it’s a very well-done piece of work that I’d recommend to friends who like similar movies
Nice touch.
